Daily life
Sep 29, 2009
In daily life, you may suddenly find yourself thinking about the things that you take for granted at home, such as finding a place to live, taking out insurance, finding out whether you’re allowed to work, and getting used to a different currency.
But you are also bound to have some practical questions too, like how to get a mobile phone, how to send a parcel home, what are the rules of the road, etc. For more information and useful links, see the website of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
For a general view of life in Holland, take a look at the interesting movies on Vi5ions or on the YouTube channel of Nuffic Neso Mexico.
If you encounter a problem, the first person to talk to should be the person who can help resolve it. If, for example, you have problems about your course, first talk to your tutor about it.
Because of cultural differences or because you are new to the Netherlands, you may wish to find out more. In the first instance, contact the international student office at your university. Almost all Universities and Universities of Applied Sciences have a counselor who is assigned to help students or handle complaints.
Of course you can also contact Neso Mexico if you have any questions about daily life in Holland.
